Every skier remembers the moment it finally clicks. One day you are stuck in pizza, legs burning in a wedge, hoping gravity shows mercy. Then suddenly you are French frying, skis parallel, confidence unlocked. It is skiing’s most universal milestone, and now it has officially gone full circle.
For the first time ever, skiers can quite literally French fry on French fries.
Ore-Ida has teamed up with Fischer Sports to release the Ore-Ida French Fry Skis, a limited edition pair inspired by the brand’s iconic crinkle cut fries. Yes, real skis, covered in fries, and still very skiable.
The skis bring Ore-Ida’s unmistakable look straight to the slopes, complete with bold crinkle cut ridges, a golden fry themed topsheet, and a ketchup red background that pops against the snow. They are playful, loud, and unapologetically fun, but this is not just novelty gear. Fischer’s involvement means these are legitimate, slope-ready skis designed to perform and not just hang on a wall.

The idea works because it taps into something every skier understands. “French fry” is not just a technique, it is a badge of honor. It marks the moment when skiing stops being survival and starts being fun. Putting that concept directly onto a pair of skis feels ridiculous in the best way.
The Ore-Ida French Fry Skis will be available starting February 1, 2026, priced at $250 per pair. They will be sold on Amazon and at select retailers in Oregon and Idaho, including Mountain Shop and PK’s Skis and Sports. Supplies are limited, which feels appropriate for something this wonderfully unhinged.
Ore-Ida is also taking the celebration straight to the slopes. During X Games 2026, the brand will host a pop up at Aspen Snowmass from January 23 through January 25. Skiers will be able to demo the French Fry Skis, take laps, and then warm up afterward with hot, crispy Ore-Ida fries.
Are these the most serious skis you will ever own? Probably not. Are they the most fun skis in the lift line? Almost certainly. In a sport that often takes itself very seriously, Ore-Ida and Fischer’s French Fry Skis are a playful reminder that skiing is meant to be fun, celebrating that universal moment when everything clicks with humor, joy, and plenty of personality. And honestly, who wouldn’t smile skiing on fries?
