Utah’s Eagle Point Resort was forced to end its 2025-26 ski season on March 15 after a tough season for snow in the Beehive State. Eagle Point’s closure comes as resorts across Utah struggle to maintain skiable conditions for slushy spring laps. The resort located in Beaver, Utah, is the third resort to have closed for the season in the state, following Cherry Peak, which closed on March 11, and Nordic Valley, which closed on February 24.
This is Eagle Point’s first time closing in March in the last seven years. In 2019, it last closed in March. This takes the resort to only being open for 86 days in the 2025-26 season. Usually, it stays open until early April and often gets over 100 days of skiing and snowboarding.
Eagle Point, an Indy Pass resort, received a total of 113 inches (287 centimeters) of snowfall this season. According to On The Snow, Eagle Point averages 190 inches (438 centimeters) of snowfall per year, putting this year 40% below average.
Other resorts across the Rockies are following the early close trend. Some bigger resorts are bucking the March closure trend and have announced April closing dates, such as Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain, and Alta. In Colorado, resorts like the Aspen Snowmass, Vail, and Beaver Creek have announced closing dates in April as well.

This season’s low snowfall totals come in stark contrast with recent winters. The 2022-23 season saw 331 inches (841 centimeters) of snow blanket the resort, the most in the previous 10 years. However, this year’s uncharacteristic warm weather prevented the typical, powder-filled season Utah is famous for.
Eagle Point is widely considered one of Utah’s “hidden gem” resorts. Smaller crowds, cheaper lift tickets, and a close-knit atmosphere make Eagle Point a resort greatly appreciated by its visitors. With a base elevation of 9,100 feet (2,774 meters), cold and dry snow make powder days at Eagle Point some of the most memorable.

Unfortunately for Eagle Creek and its neighboring resorts, this season will go down as one of the most disappointing in recent memory.
Eagle Point will now begin to shift to its summer operations, which include horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, and various other warm-weather activities. The resort also announced the beginning of its 2026-27 season pass sale, indicating the resort is already looking forward to the next winter season.
