Idaho’s Silver Mountain Resort has announced several exciting updates for the 2025-26 season.

Pre-season, crews at the resort in Kellogg, Idaho, conducted extensive thinning in new areas of the North Face Glades, yielding additional steep, fall-line tree skiing and reducing the need for traversing. Silver Mountain also expanded Sheer Bliss, a run on skier’s left, and installed a permanent rope line for safety and clarity. In addition, the resort trimmed and gladed traverses throughout the mountain to improve flow and access.

Opening day is scheduled for November 28, and the resort has a great program planned for opening weekend. Friday and Saturday, November 28-29, the resort will screen Warren Miller’s 76th annual film, Sno-Ciety, which features big mountain lines and race gates to urban ski hills and unexpected destinations from California, Colorado, and New Hampshire to Austria, British Columbia, Finland, and Scotland. Doors open on Friday at 6:00 p.m., and the show starts at 6:30 p.m., while Saturday doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

In addition, Silver Mountain will host its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 29. There will be free cookies and hot cocoa throughout the event, and Santa will be here to officially light up the Christmas tree. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. and the evening concludes with a firework show at 6:00 p.m.

Tubing sessions at Silver Mountain are now extended to seven days per week, and Silver Rapids, Idaho’s largest indoor waterpark, will boast extended midweek hours. Also note that in the lead-up to the 2025-26 season, season pass holders will enjoy a great freebie this Sunday, November 16, when the resort is offering a free water park day at Silver Rapids.

Other mountain improvements for the 2025-26 season include updated signage that provides more accurate run status updates and links to backcountry forecasts at backcountry gates, as well as transceiver park repairs and updates to support avalanche safety training and practice. Plus, a new partnership is bringing the Rossignol Experience Center to Silver Mountain Sports that will offer a wealth of branded hard goods and expanded demo experiences.

Located way up in Northern Idaho in the strip of land between Washington and Montana called the Panhandle, Silver Mountain features more than 1,600 acres of skiable area and a vertical drop of 2,200 feet. The resort has 80 trails, including 73 named trails plus glades, and is serviced by seven lifts, including North America’s longest single-stage gondola.
