Due to rising temperatures making the massive snowpack at Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT, very unstable, the Utah Department of Transportation, UDOT, has closed State Route 210 until at least Thursday. This timeframe may change as the week progresses but is based on a warming trend that will continue through Thursday.

On Monday, April 10, 2023, ONLY DOWNHILL travel will be permitted from 5 – 9 a.m., after which time the Little Cottonwood Canyon will be closed with no estimated opening time in place.

🚧 Road Closure Alert 🚧 Little Cottonwood Canyon (SR-210) will temporarily re-open tonight from 8-10PM for downhill travel, close overnight, then re-open for downhill travel from 5AM – 9AM tomorrow (4/10) morning. The canyon will be closed after this travel period with NO ETO for any travel. The potential exists for large, destructive avalanches that could affect infrastructure and/or damage buildings. Travelers should be prepared for a prolonged closure of multiple days starting Monday and adjust plans accordingly. There is NO estimated time for a full road opening.
