Astronomically speaking, summer officially begins on June 20, 2025, with the summer solstice, but according to the Farmers’ Almanac Summer 2025 Weather Forecast, temperatures may rise before then.

Excessive Heat Warning

The Farmersโ€™ Almanac forecasts warmer-than-average summer weather for most of the nation, warning that โ€œThe Heat is On!โ€ This is not great news, especially since recent summers have ranked as the hottest summers in recent history. Editor Sandi Duncan says, โ€œOur extended forecast suggests a very long, hot summer with unrelenting heat. July may be the month when records are broken nationwide.โ€

Rainfall Returns to Near Normal

New England and the Northeast have experienced abnormally wet summers in recent years. While occasional heavy downpours are predicted this summer, the Farmersโ€™ Almanac long-range predictions call for near-average summer precipitation in those areas.

Wildfire Watch

However, the Far West may be drier than average, which could lead to widespread wildfire activity.
