A woman in her 20s was struck on her head by a falling rock while hiking Sunday afternoon in Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah.
A Search and Rescue team was sent to assist the woman as she was in a “difficult area” when the injury occurred, the United Police Department said. The rock split open her head. She is currently conscious and in fair condition, according to officials.
Rescue teams were on-scene until around 9 pm assisting the hiker. Donut Falls remained open to foot traffic but the road closed.
