The White Pine Ski Lodge caught fire at 1:20 am and sustained “heavy fire damage,” said Mike Petty, public information officer for the district. The fire did not spread to any of the surrounding buildings or landscape. Nobody was injured in the fire, and nobody was in the building at the time it started.
The person who initially reported the fire described it as a wildland fire and said they thought they heard an explosion.
As of now, the cause is undetermined, but officials from the Wyoming fire marshal’s office and the Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating.
