For skiers who want the ultimate mountain home, this lavish Tahoe-area house is just steps from one of California’s most popular ski resorts.
A Truckee, California, property at 9519 Wawona Court was recently put up for sale for $22 million. Sitting in the private gated community, Martis Camp, the property comes with a golf membership and 9,000 square feet of luxury living.
Built By a Tennis Player
The home was built by Faulkner Architects under the guidance of former professional tennis player Trent Tucker. After taking trips to Lake Tahoe and experiencing the area’s natural beauty, Tucker was moved to build a home. In 2013, he paid $1.1 million for a 1.4-acre lot near the Martis Camp ski lift, which connects to California’s Northstar Resort.
“After visiting a handful of times, I realized this place is really special,” Tucker said in a New York Times article.

Despite not knowing much about architecture, Tucker closely involved himself in the design process. He worked alongside Greg Faulkner, who had creative control of the project. Together, the two built a home made for skiers to enjoy the Tahoe area and its beauty.
The home was completed in 2019 with about 7,800 square feet of heated living space. It later underwent a major remodel in 2025, which added roughly 2,400 square feet to bring the total to about 9,000 square feet.
9,000 Square Feet of Majesty
Featuring five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, the home combines modern architecture with direct access to some of the best skiing in California. Its steel, concrete, and glass materials give the home a signature modern look. But its wood, basalt, and marble finishes bring rustic undertones to complement the surrounding natural beauty.
On the main living level, wide sliding glass doors open to patios and terraces with comfortable outdoor seating areas. There are water and fire elements outside—including a covered and heated dining area with a long table.
The home’s amenities are extensive: two movie theaters, a golf simulator, a custom music listening room, two wine rooms, and a tequila bar finished in Italian marble.
The design also features family-friendly elements. It contains a children’s playroom with a heated padded floor and built-ins for storage, along with features like monkey bars, a climbing wall, and a swing.
Outside, there are nine fireplaces throughout the property, which is designed for heavy snow seasons with a heated driveway and heated roof.
