The Future of Filming Ski Movies: Alaska Ski Movie Wins “Robot Film Festival”

Miles Clark |

This past winter I spent 20 days on a glacier in Alaska camping, climbing, and skiing with 8 Aussies.  I know what you’re thinking, but it wasn’t that bad…

No, these guys were fantastic, we had a ball, and I’ve been extremely impressed with the quality of the images that they were able to capture.  Amazing stuff.

Especially since our boy Danny was able to get some very unique shots with his flying helicopter robot drone thingy.  Danny put together a short edit for the Robot Film Festival in San Francisco last week.  His entry was extremely late and he had to get an extension for submission and he didn’t even have time to smooth out any of the audio.

Despite being up against movies with huge budgets, Danny’s movie won!

The movie we were filming in Alaska is called “Sugar Mountain” and will be released in Fall 2014.
