A film tour celebrating women’s ski and snowboard culture is returning this fall with double the stops and an expanded lineup of stories from across the snow community. The Girl Winter Film Tour, presented by Jackson Hole-based apparel company Stio, launches October 9 in Park City, Utah, before traveling to theaters across North America. The program features six short films, each ranging from a few minutes to half an hour, highlighting perspectives often underrepresented in outdoor media.
This year’s lineup includes Indigenous storytellers, professional athletes, and recreational skiers whose films explore themes from friendship and humor to motherhood and resilience. Organizers say the variety is intentional, designed to mirror the patchwork energy of the “girl dinner” trend while showcasing the diversity of lived experiences in the mountains.

The Park City premiere will feature athlete Q&As, live music, and a Ski Utah-sponsored friendship-bracelet station alongside the screenings. Tour stops will also offer exclusive merchandise, from limited-edition beanies made with Stio to Yeti collaborations and even biodegradable glitter.
The tour is produced by Moonrise Studio, a women-led creative collective known for the award-winning film Advice for Girls. Founders Sara Beam Robbins, Iz La Motte, Sierra Schlag, and Katie Cooney said the goal is to build a more inclusive culture in snow sports while giving female and non-binary creators a platform. A teaser for their next feature, Winter Elements, will also be shown during the tour ahead of its planned 2026 release.
By carving out space for fresh voices, organizers hope Girl Winter becomes more than a film series. “Representation can inspire the next generation to believe they belong here,” Schlag said.
