Girls night out? Yes, please! If you’re looking for the ultimate gal pal squad SheJumps is for you. Co-founded by professional free-skier, Lynsey Dyer; the ladies at SheJumps have been getting after it since 2007. Their mission: to increase the participation of women and girls in outdoor activities. Whether you’re a never-ever who’s jumping in, a fun gal trying to jump up, or an elite athlete looking to jump out this super rad organization has exactly what you’re looking for.
Skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and fishing are just a few of the activities that SheJumps uses to instill confidence, positivity, and creativity in women of all ages. By helping women discovery these attributes in themselves, SheJumps aims to enable these gals to reach their highest potential. To promote SheJumps’ message Dyer created the “Girafficorn”, a mix of “half giraffe, half unicorn, and all magic” to stand as a symbol to remind girls to persevere and keep their heads held high!
SheJumps’ most recent adventure was an ascent to the summit of Mount Rainier to raise an upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars for their Wild Skills Youth Initiatives. The purpose of SheJumps’ Youth Initiatives is to give girls hands-on experiences, through events, workshops, and camps, in the outdoors while encouraged by a supportive community.
If you’re interested in becoming a part of SheJumps, you’re in luck! One of SheJumps’ biggest draws is its accessibility. With seven regional programs across the country, an adventure with the SheJumps squad is never more than a car ride away. From the Northeast to the Pacific Coast and everywhere in between, the SheJumps community is a safe haven for women to explore and improve their passions while surrounded by positive female role models. Go find your local SheJumps ambassador on the SheJumps website, so you too can be apart of the Girafficorn movement!
