Grand Targhee Resort, WY announced on Facebook yesterday that they will be postponing their November 22 opening – but hopefully only for 24-hours!

“Unfortunately, the colder temperatures and forecasted snow did not materialize last night,” the post said. “We are not going to open on Friday, November 22, but we will reevaluate tomorrow for a Saturday opening.”

The Facebook post features a group of employees doing their best snow dances and there is snow in the forecast on Sunday.

Targhee currently has a 26″ base, significantly better than Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, who are reporting 10 inches at mid-mountain and 19 inches up high (except for its manmade white ribbon of death).

A successful snow dance though will turn things around pretty quickly. One decent storm and winter can begin in the Tetons.
