Gunman Fires 15 Shots at Rock Climbers in Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT Yesterday

“Warning to all climbers in SLC area. Today, me and 2 friends were on the upper ledge (rapping 4th pitch) of Pentapitch when multiple rounds were fired at us from a green sedan on the side of the vaults road, near gate B. Of the 15 Shots, ~5-7 whistled past us and hit rock around us. The other shots were fired and nearly hit climbers on Stifflers Mom.

Police are investigating and have found casings.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune and Samuel Clairmont, a gunman opened fire at two rock climbers in Little Cottonwood Canyon, UT yesterday at 6pm local time.

No one was injured.

The climbers reported to police hearing bullets whizzing around them and hitting nearby rocks, according to Unified Police Lt. Brian Lohrke.

Lohrke reported today that no suspects have yet been identified.

It’s unclear if the shots fired were intended to scare the climbers or to injure/kill them.

The incident is under investigation.

    Might as well say, “just have to hang in there until the idiot stops firing.”
