Hike Up Shirley Canyon @ Squaw Valley: Conditions Report + Photo Tour

With the snow all but receded it’s full paddle, bike, hike, and climb season in Tahoe.  And one of our favorite walks in Tahoe is up Shirley Canyon at Squaw Valley.  The hike up Shirley Canyon is now *mostly* free of snow, save a few hundred yards near the top Silverado/Solitude.  Also, the tram is now open for the season, which means a free ride back down to the base of Squaw if you so desire.

It’s always fun to get up on top of Squaw in the summer to see what all the winter time lines look like sans snow.  Below is a look at some of the sights along the way up Shirley Canyon.
