The 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy, are less than 225 days away and will be held on February 6, 2026. The Winter Olympics are a must-watch event for any winter enthusiast, and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing had a global broadcast audience of over 2 billion. The Olympics also draw thousands of people to watch the games in person. The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, drew 343,000 people to the games, according to Nielsen Sports. For those wanting to watch the Winter Olympics in person, it can be expensive. Prices for the Opening Ceremony are €3,250.00 ($3,800), for the Closing Ceremony, €5,000 ($5,847), and one of the lowest-cost events to attend is Curling at €125 ($146). Those costs are just for the tickets to attend the events and do not include airfare, lodging, food, or any other expense associated with attending the Winter Olympics.

There is an opportunity for people who want to attend the games but may not have the funds to pay for it, provided they are willing to work for it—literally. On Location, the Official Hospitality Provider for the Paris 2024 Games, Milano Cortina 2026 Games, and LA 2028 Olympic Games, is seeking individuals with hospitality experience to work at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Those job opportunities would be at in-venue and off-venue hospitality lounges in Milan, Cortina, and Livigno from 6 to 22 February 2026. On Location is seeking individuals to enhance the hospitality at the Winter Olympic Games by welcoming guests and embodying the vibrant spirit of the Games.

Both positions are entry-level roles, so prior hospitality experience and knowledge of event logistics are preferred but not required. Individuals applying for the positions must have a valid EU work permit, speak fluent English and Italian, and be outgoing, welcoming, and friendly, as per the job requirements. Individuals who meet the requirements and complete the expression of interest form will be given special preference in the recruitment process. Additionally, individuals with prior hospitality experience may be matched with other opportunities available at On Location. These positions do not include airfares to Italy, and accommodations will not be provided.

The two positions available are guest services coordinator and host. The guest services coordinator will be responsible for delivering an exceptional experience for hospitality lounge guests, as outlined in the job description. Some responsibilities include: meeting and greeting guests, assisting them throughout their stay, dealing with any issues that arise, serving as a point of reference, providing local knowledge and information about the Games, identifying and addressing any challenges that may impact guest services, and providing quick solutions to issues.

The host position will serve as the primary point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming and seamless hospitality lounge experience. Responsibilities include: greeting guests upon arrival, scanning tickets at entrance gates, and directing clients to maintain an efficient entry process, offering comprehensive information to clients and responding to any inquiries they have, and providing any assistance requested by clients throughout their customer journey.

With the Olympic Winter Games taking place across three regions and multiple cities in northern Italy, it presents an excellent opportunity to witness one of the world’s largest and most prestigious events. This also provides individuals seeking an active way to participate in the Winter Olympic Games. To apply for one of these positions, visit the On Locations website.
