Is the Mountaineer Express Chairlift the best bang for your buck at Deer Valley, UT?

I think it might be…

Why the Mountaineer Is Great:

  • Rarely a lift line
  • Ride time: ~5–7 minutes (short, efficient vertical gain)
  • Capacity: ~2,400 people per hour
  • Laps per hour: 8–10 (realistically achievable without rushing)
  • Vertical per hour: ~10,000–13,000 ft
  • Direct fall-line skiing from top of lift to base

Most people see the Mountaineer as a transportation lift – the connection between the main base area and the Jordanelle Gondola zone.

It’s hiding in plain sight…

Mountaineer Express isn’t the flashiest lift.

It doesn’t access the gnarliest terrain.

But it quietly delivers:

  • The most laps
  • The most vert
  • The most consistency

It’s the lift where Deer Valley skiers accidentally have their best day
