Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Press Release:

(December 16, 2016), Teton Village, WY ––With 207 inches of total snowfall season to date in Rendezvous Bowl and snow depths of 82 inches, this marks the DEEPest December on this date in 40 years at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR).  With a massive storm blasting the Tetons since Wednesday and continuing throughout the day today, skiers and riders are experiencing one of the best Decembers on record.  By tomorrow, Saturday, December 17th all lifts will be open for the season, including the new Sweetwater Gondola.

“This storm has already produced 2 feet of snow in 2 days and it’s still pounding,” stated JHMR VP Operations, Tim Mason.  “Our patrol and mountain operations staff are working tirelessly each day to get the mountain open in a safe way, so our guests can enjoy these all time conditions. Snow forecasters are calling for more snow throughout the day today, and avalanche conditions are high at all elevations, so we want to remind skiers and riders to be safe, and if you don’t know, don’t go into the backcountry” Mason went on to note.
