Jackson Hole, WY to Host Open House at Revolutionary New Beginner’s Lodge this Saturday

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), WY, recently ranked #1 ski resort in North America, is famous for having some of the best and steepest terrain around and is high on every skier’s and snowboarder’s bucket list.

But did you know that JHMR also boasts some fantastic intermediate and easy terrain, with great snow, and fewer crowds? In fact, 15% of all visitors are beginners and their Mountain Sports School offers one of the very best learning experiences, employing approximately 645 top-notch instructors during the winter season.

In the continuing effort to enhance its beginner skier and family experience, that learning experience is about to get even better. New for 2018-19 is what will be one of the best beginner and family ski facilities in North America, Solitude Station. It’s the next phase of capital investment surrounding the Sweetwater Gondola, located at the mid-station just a short two-minute ride from the base of the mountain. The revolutionary new Solitude Station is entirely dedicated to kids and adults learning to ski and snowboard and boasts 12,000 square feet of Mountain Sports School, rental and dining facilities.

This weekend JHMR is pleased to host a fantastic weekend full of events, and an open house at Solitude Station, showcasing Jackson Hole’s continued devotion to ski and snowboard progression and the family experience. On Saturday, JHMR welcomes guests to come and experience the new lodge with an afternoon of music, food, and drinks.  Complimentary beginner lift tickets, rental gear and lessons are available from 12:30-4 pm. Complimentary 2 hour beginner ski and snowboard lessons will take place from 1-3 pm.

To top this off, from 3-5pm complimentary hot cocoa and cookies will be served for the kids, and adults can enjoy small bites and drink specials. Chan Man Roots Band will be playing throughout the afternoon.

Then, Sunday, December 16th, join Hole in the Wall Sports and Burton Snowboards as they kick off winter 2018/19 with the Burton Jam Session. On hand will be Burton staff, HIW staff, and riders of all ages will come together, spread the stoke and shred on the hill.

The Burton team is teaming up with the Parks and Pipe crew to bring you Mountain Man events, in addition to every kid’s favorite riglet park outside of JH Sports. At 2 pm there’s a women’s snowboard ride meeting at Hole in the Wall. Once the lifts stop turning at 4 pm, the party moves inside to HIW for pizza and beer, and a presentation from Burton on the history of snowboarding, a raffle, food, drinks and more. You don’t want to miss this!
