I awoke unmotivated today in Jackson, WY to the sound of hammering rain.
Then I saw that Jackson Hole was reporting 13″ of new snow up top.
The upper mountain was sick. Deep snow made for bucking and charging. The snow seemed to dry out as the day progressed.
The weather was crazy today. Sometimes foggy. Sometimes tropical. Sometimes super windy. Sometimes full sun. Sometimes nuking snow.
Our last run in the backcountry at 3pm was deep, fun, and a bit slabby. North facing rollovers all seemed to be pulling out. Heads up. Avalanche danger may be quite high tomorrow.
At 4pm it was absolutely nuking at the base… tomorrow should be wild.
Crowds weren’t too bad today considering it was presidents weekend.
