Report from Thanksgiving Day 2020

Jackson Hole reported that they were only going to have the 3 lifts open today:

1. Sweetwater Gondola
2. Apres Vous Chairlift
3. Teewinot Chairlift

Instead, they opened 7 lifts:

1. Sweetwater Gondola
2. Bridger Gondola
3. Apres Vous Chairlift
4. Teewinot Chairlift
5. Casper Chairlift
6. Teton Chairlift
7. Marmot Chairlift

The 6″ of fresh snow overnight didn’t hurt…

I skied off Teton Pass in the morning then showed up at Jackson Hole at 1pm.

There was no one there, the sun was out and it was snowing, and the skiing was great.

This place is steep and long.

The runs were wide open.

A ton was open.

I never waited in a lift line.

It felt full-on for this time of year.

Everything ran smoothly – they’d clearly done their homework.

Those who got there early this morning clearly got some fun little powder stashes.

I cannot wait for tomorrow…

Jackson Hole mentioned that they’ll be opening more as the week goes on and it sure looked like they were ready to run Thunder for tomorrow…
