Report from February 8, 2025
Yesterday was our final day at Jackson Hole, WY.
We got our early and into the first tram of the day.
We stumbled out of the tram into bead-blasting wind and snow.
The sign on the tram read 07ยบF.
We felt it.
Fox, Nate, & I skipped down into position and worked our way into a deep powder zone we know and love.
I dropped first and it was a helluva lot deeper than the 4″ the resort had reported.
Snow belted me in the face every 3 turns and I loved it.
I skied a safe line then pulled over to watch Nate roll up to me simply covered head to toe in snow and panting.
The stoke was real.
We worked our way into the little pillow zone and gave it our second attempt in 2 days.
I didn’t quite nail it again, but was stoked on deep snow and flow.
We met up with Fox at the bottom of the run for hugs all around.ย
We were fired up.
I had to make it back to Utah in time for dinner and “Beauty & The Beast” at the Utah Symphony.
Fox had to make it to Elko for a quick jaunt in the Ruby Mountains, NV, on his way back to Tahoe.
We jumped in our cars, blew a kiss to the Tetons, and rolled south and east, respectively with satisfaction in our eyes.
I made it just in time to Park City.
We flowed down to SLC for dinner at Lake Effect.
One of the coolest restaurants I’ve been to anywhere.
By 7 pm we were in Abravanel Hall for the Utah Symphony.
They played Disney’s “Beauty And The Beast” on the big screen while the symphony played all the music live.
It was one of the most moving experiences of my life.
I love that movie and hearing those songs live in a building shaped like a huge wooden speaker.
No speakers, just the musicians’ instruments straight into your ears.
As certain as the sun
Rises in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and The Beast…
Honestly, I’m still buzzing after that experience last night.
Maybe the insane powder run in the Tetons added something to that buzz…
Thanks, Wyoming & Utah!
