Report from December 8th, 2020

Another sunny, stunning day at Jackson Hole today.

We did one quick lap in the local backcountry this morning before sauntering over to Teton Village for a few laps at Jackson Hole ski resort.

We cranked laps all over but really liked the Grand run from the top of the Thunder chair to the bottom of the Sublette chair.

Thunder & Sublette opened on Saturday and they really opened up the mountain a lot.

The Grand run starts out chalky and cold then ends up corning and warm.

The corn on south-facing runs was very good today.

The sunlight between 2pm and 4pm is gorgeous and oft illuminates people’s snow-spray making for gorgeous, hanging chandeliers of light and crystal.

Every significant lift is now open except for the tram making for a lot of room to roam right now.

The skiing and riding at Jackson Hole is damn fun right now.

A change in the weather is coming starting Thursday and we’ve all got our fingers crossed for as much snow as possible.

We’re hoping enough snow falls in the coming week to get the tram open.

Rendezvous Bowl is looking pretty thin right now and it’ll need a good storm or three to get it in shape.

Jackson Hole’s snowpack is currently sitting at about 90% of average to date.
