We got out to Jackson Hole, WY, today with high hopes.

The previous day was damn fun with big wind and warm temps.

Today was colder with clear skies in the morning.

We thought we might be able to find some wind-sheltered powder out there so we started to sniff around.

We sniffed in the shade, then we sniffed in the sun.

Neither quite worked…

The shady stuff was mostly wind-hammered.

The sunny stuff had gotten too much sun and it was sun cooked and refrozen in spots with other spots holding thin powder on ice and all of it wind-affected.

“I’ve never skied powder you couldn’t stop in before!” – Fox, today

It was pretty weird down low with a bit of snow on super smooth ice.

Still fun though!

After that we switched to groomers and enjoyed the afternoon until clouds buried the sun and the light got a bit flat.

We decided to head home and rest up for tomorrow.

It’s already snowing and a strong storm is rolling in tonight and tomorrow which should make Saturday pretty great here.

Thanks, Wyoming!
