Ugh…  The hype on this is almost nauseating…  Even JT is acting.  Feels like a reality TV show, which we suppose it is.

JT and Shane McConkey Ski BASEd off the Eiger 11 years ago in 2004.

(opening shot in this video is Shane ski basing the Eiger in 2004 with JT)

Obviously, JT is a badass and this is still an awesome feat. It’s just feels fake as this was completely staged to be dramatic in a non real way.

This video is extremely sensationalized and for people unfamiliar with skiing, it’s probably new and exciting.

  1. How often do these guys go back up and pick up all the gear that they jettison? I’ve seen several of these videos from remote locations and watching the jumper jettison his skis usually with snow on the ground. How do they find them? How many jumps have they done where skis, poles and now a chute were discarded and not picked up? How many skis left on the mountain does it take before Mom pulls your card?

  2. maybe I’m in agreement with your point of view on this, but I’m not sure. I think for many people that sport is dead. watching someone glide with a chute is now as entertaining as watching bombs fall on a city. it is the very image of death. from here on out boys and girls, keep it private. mostly no one wants to see it anymore.
