Keystone Resort, Colorado, will push to begin winter 2025-26 as early as possible, with a target of sometime in October for opening day. The leaves are already seeing tinges of color, and Keystone’s teams are beginning to shift gears into winter prep mode on the mountain. Last year Keystone opened on November 2, with more than 45 acres of skiing and riding on the popular Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon trails, a hike-to terrain park, and a mountaintop learning area. Keystone Resort closed for the 2024-25 season on April 6, after a 155-day season.
Last season, Keystone was the first resort to open on the Epic Pass and was open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Other Colorado resorts have also announced opening dates for the 2025-26 season:
- Beaver Creek: Wednesday, November 26
- Breckenridge: Friday, November 7
- Crested Butte: Wednesday, November 26
- Steamboat: Saturday, November 22
- Vail: Friday, November 14
If guests are still in hike, bike, and golf mode, don’t fret, Keystone’s River Run Gondola will keep spinning Thursday through Monday until Labor Day for Bike Park fun. In September, the resort will shift to a Friday through Sunday schedule for the gondola until it closes down for the summer season on September 21. Golf will continue until October 5, giving guests the chance to golf down low and ski up high in the same month.
For the 2025-26 season, Keystone’s River Run Village will debut the highly anticipated Kindred Resort at the base of River Run Gondola. Kindred Resort will open as Colorado’s newest premier luxury development, featuring ski-in, ski-out residences along with a RockResorts-branded hotel. This new development will also be the new home of Keystone Ski and Ride School, and slopeside retail and rental. At Breckenridge, guests can expect the high-energy vibe and unique town-to-mountain connection to continue this season, with weekend concert series and high-level competitions to be announced closer to the season.
