Keystone Resort, CO, announced yesterday that it will open for the 2022-23 winter season on Friday, October 28th with two miles of skiing and riding on the signature Schoolmarm and Silver Spoon trails. Additionally, skiers and riders will have access to a hike-to terrain park on Spring Dipper. In celebration of Opening Day, guests who arrive early will be treated to free donuts and hot cocoa, as well as first chair prizes from Helly Hansen. A mountaintop DJ experience will keep the party going throughout the day.

“We are beyond excited to kick off the winter season here at Keystone. Thanks to our team’s hard work throughout the summer and over the past few months, winter is here, and with plenty to look forward to this season. In addition to skiing and riding this winter, we’re excited to bring back familiar favorites like the World’s Largest Mountaintop Snow Fort and the Last Lift Bar at Mountain House.”

Chris Sorensen, Vice President and General Manager at Keystone Resort

Early season terrain will be accessed via the River Run Gondola, with skiing and riding off the Montezuma Express lift. At the end of the day, guests will download the River Run Gondola back to the base of the resort. Keystone will continue to make snow at every opportunity to expand terrain offerings this early season and aims to open the Mountain House base area in mid-November.

Starting Friday, the resort will be open daily from 8:30 am to 4 pm, and until 8 pm during night skiing operations which will return this season on weekends and holidays, starting at Thanksgiving.

Pass & Lift Ticket Information

Epic Pass products, including regional passes and day passes, are still available to purchase for the 2022-23 season at EpicPass.com. Don’t miss your chance to lock in the best value in skiing and riding today.

Guests planning to visit this winter are encouraged to purchase their lift access in advance – whether it is a lift ticket, Epic Day Pass, or season pass. Lift tickets will be limited every day, across every resort, during the 2022-23 season in order to preserve the guest experience at each resort. Lift ticket availability will be visible on the lift tickets page of KeystoneResort.com. If tickets are sold out online, guests will not be able to purchase them at ticket windows.

Passes, including Epic Day Passes, and Pass Holder benefit tickets will not be limited. There is also no impact on guests who enroll in ski and ride school lessons that include lift access, or on employee and dependent pass access.

New & Upcoming Enhancements to the Mountain

This winter, rest and refuel at the newly expanded Timber Ridge Lodge on North Peak! Keystone’s largest on-mountain restaurant and lodge is now even bigger with additional indoor and outdoor seating.

In addition, following recent work with the U.S. Forest Service, Keystone Resort is optimistic to be able to bring lift-served skiing and riding to Bergman Bowl for the 2023-24 winter season with the addition of the new Bergman Express lift. This area of the resort will be open for cat shuttle skiing as well as hike-to access skiing and riding for the 2022-23 season, and for 2023-24, the new lift will improve access and provide lift service more than 550 acres of intermediate and advanced terrain in Bergman and Erickson Bowls.

Early Season & Uphill Access

Please be reminded that limited terrain and early-season conditions exist. Keystone Resort requires all skiers and riders to observe all posted signs and warnings. Closed trails may contain hazards due to limited natural snow coverage and snowmaking operations. For the safety of all guests, please keep off closed trails and out of closed areas. Uphill access at Keystone is currently not permitted due to early-season mountain preparations and snowmaking. The resort will announce when uphill access is open to guests once early-season operations are complete and there is adequate terrain to safely permit these activities.
