While most of North America is crying out for snow, so much so that many resorts postponed their openings, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, BC, has no such problem.
The resort opened on December 4th with a 63″ base––deeper than many resorts will achieve all season––making it their deepest opening day base EVER.
- Opening weekend report: Kicking Horse, BC Report: 4,000-Vertical-Feet of Awesome
The resort has already received more than 127″ of snow this season. That’s more than all Utah’s resorts combined saw in both November and December.
The deepest base we have ever opened with.

SnowBrains founder Miles Clark was there opening weekend and can attest to just how good it was:
This was only my 2nd true powder day of the season and it felt so good to ride on quiet snow… the skiing was silky, dreamy, and wildly fun.
