Vermont’s Killington Resort, the largest ski and snowboard destination in Eastern North America, has approved an additional $22 million for on-mountain improvements, marking its second consecutive year of significant capital infusion under its independent ownership group. This move brings total investment at the resort to $60 million over two years, following the $38 million allocated the previous year, which included the addition of the Superstar Six chairlift.

A $6.5 million portion of the new funds will upgrade the Snowdon Triple to a fixed-grip, four-person chairlift, enhancing access to a popular terrain zone. The project supports Killington’s strategy to sustain a resilient network of fixed-grip lifts, aimed at assuring reliable mountain coverage during New England’s challenging weather.

Another $6 million will establish a new, expanded Jerk Jamaican Mountain Grill, quadrupling its current footprint and addressing persistent capacity issues. The redesigned ski-in, ski-out restaurant will feature 160 indoor seats—up from 26—100 additional outdoor seats, enlarged food preparation and storage space, full bar service, and new indoor restrooms for the Northbrook area.
“We’ve been thrilled at the level of investment from our independent ownership group over the past year. They have certainly lived up to their word, even increasing last year’s initial capital investment of $30 million to $38 million by the end of this summer. The flexibility of independent ownership has allowed us to act quickly and make timely adjustments to capital projects while always keeping the guest experience as our priority,” Mike Solimano, the resort’s president and CEO, said.

The remaining $9.5 million will be allocated toward continued maintenance and infrastructure repairs, including $2 million each for new snowcats and snowmaking pipeline upgrades. These improvements will support the 1,024 low-energy snow guns installed in the past two years, further advancing snowmaking efficiency across the resort.
Killington Resort is scheduled to open on November 8.
