Killington, VT Opens Today As The First East Coast Ski Area To Open For The 2017/18 Season

Killington, VT opens for the 2017/18 season today. They are the first resort on the East Coast to open up for the season. Opening day at the resort isn’t for everyone, as only Season Pass and Express Card Holders are allowed to access the resort on Wednesday.

Killington, VT Opening Day Details:

Lifts:

  • K-1 Express Gondola (Uploading/Downloading Only)
  • North Ridge Triple Chair

Runs:

  • Rime and Reason

Hours:

  • Uploading from 9:30am – 3:00pm
  • Last Run Down Rime and Reason At 3:30pm
  • K-1 Gondola Will Download Until Everyone Reaches The Base

Opening Day Details From Killington, VT:

Its time to get this season started Killington fans! Killington Resort will open for Season Pass and Express Card holders only on Wednesday, November 8. No day tickets will be available on opening day. We will be open to the general public daily beginning Thursday, November 9.

On Wednesday, we expect to open the K-1 Express Gondola at 9:30 a.m., although it could happen earlier, please be prepared.

Early season skiing and riding at Killington works like this:

Guests will upload on the K-1 Express Gondola to the Killington Peak summit. The K-1 Express Gondola will allow uploading until 3:00 p.m.

Once at the summit, guests will walk down the Peak Walkway to the top of the North Ridge area.

Open skiing and snowboarding terrain is located on the Rime and Reason trails, including an early season terrain park on Reason. Lift service for skiing and riding is provided by the North Ridge Triple chair, which will load until 3:45. Last run down Rime and Reason is at 3:30.

At the end of the day, guests will unload the North Ridge Triple and then walk back up the Peak Walkway to Killington Peak summit. From the summit, guests will download back to K-1 Base Lodge on the K-1 Express Gondola, which will operate until everyone has downloaded.

Open terrain is suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboardersthere is no easier terrain available at this time.

Season Pass holders are invited to enjoy free lunch on Wednesday at the K-1 Caf, North Ridge Dog Sled or Peak Lodge as a token of gratitude for their commitment to Killington Resort.

Welcome back, skiers and riders.

The Bike Park, the Adventure Center, the Peak Lodge and the Golf Course are now closed for the summer/fall season. K-1 Express Gondola scenic rides and the Peak Lodge will reopen when we open for skiing and snowboarding.
