12-16 More inches of snow are Forecast for Kirkwood today…
Last night, Kirkwood ski resort said if they got 12″ of snow, they could get open early this season. This morning, there’s 14-18″ of new snow at Kirkwood… If what they said rings true, Kirkwood will most likely open up early this weekend (we’re guessing Friday).
Kirkwood has been dropping frequent hints about their pontential early opening.
“#StokeLevelRising as we near opening day here @KiriwoodMtn. We need at least 12″ of #MotherNaturesNatural to consider an early opening…” – Kirkwood yesterday
In the video below, Coop (Mr. Kirkwood) says that Heavenly and Northstar may open this weekend as well:
“Northstar & Heavenly both making snow this morning, also getting ready to pop possibly this weekend. We’ll announce maybe this afternoon, maybe tomorrow morning on what our plan is for this weekend.” – Coop (Mr. Kirkwood) this morning at 7am

We’ll most certainly let you know as soon as Kirkwood announces it’s opening day this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
