Sunrise on The Cirque

Today marked the start of the first freeride competition series at Kirkwood since the IFSA/FWT featured a merged event 7 years ago. Things kicked off with a 2* event on Vista today, with conditions that were changing throughout the day. The morning featured firm conditions and by the afternoon the spring sunshine was in full effect.

With all the recent snowfall in Tahoe, The Cirque is looking ready to rip. Tomorrow riders will descend the lookers right side, which features a number of playful diving boards as well as some steep and technical multi-stage drops.

We’re most excited for the final day of competition, when riders will take on the challenging lookers left side of The Cirque which has a number of heavy hitting lines that look ripe for the taking.

Forecasts are calling for nothing but sunshine and warm temperatures, so things should go off smoothly the next couple days.
