Kirkwood ski resort in California is set to open tomorrow. This will be the 3rd ski resort to be open in Lake Tahoe after Boreal opened a couple weeks ago and Heavenly opened Saturday.
Kirkwood got 10-18” of snow at of last week’s storm. That new snow in addition to recent snowmaking efforts was just enough for the resort to get one chair and two trails open this week.
The Forecast this week is for nothing but sun until Thanksgiving day with highs in the high 40s and low 50s at Kirkwood. We’re still hoping that we get a decent snowstorm on Turkey Day, but it doesn’t look too promising just yet.
WHAT WILL BE OPEN @ KIRKWOOD TOMORROW:
– Lifts: Solitude (chair 5)
– Trails: Lower Zachary & Outlaw
– Lifts will be open from 9am – 4pm
“Good evening my friends, We open for the 13/14 winter season tomorrow morning @9am. We will have our Solitude chair open with approx 15acres and 2 trials open. Both Lower Zachary & Outlaw will be open and groomed for you to get some early season turns in. Lift opens @9am and we hope to see you out here & on the hill.” – Kirkwood
