Lake Tahoe got 81″ of new snow in the past week and it stayed cold.

We went backcountry yesterday and it was deep.

So, we thought we’d get out there again today.

It was deep again.

We found some very fun terrain.

Conditions are all-time in the Tahoe Backcountry right now.

The weather was windy, foggy, a bit snowy, and cold today.

NOAA is forecasting 2-5 feet of snow to fall in Lake Tahoe this weekend.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 14 to 28 inches with the 
highest totals west of Highway 89, except 2 to 5 feet above 7000 feet expected. 
Winds gusting as high as 50 mph with ridge winds gusting as high as 110 mph.

and Incline Village

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 10 PM PST SUNDAY...

* CHANGES...Increased snow totals and wind gusts.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 14 to 28
  inches with the highest totals west of Highway 89, except 2 to
  5 feet above 7000 feet expected. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph
  with ridge winds gusting as high as 110 mph.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 4 PM Friday to 10 PM PST Sunday. Heaviest snow
  expected late Friday night and again Saturday afternoon
  through Sunday morning.
