Lake Tahoe, CA Snowboarder Died in Tree Well Yesterday

A snowboarder died at Northstar ski resort in Lake Tahoe, CA yesterday.

It’s being reported that the 43-year-old male snowboarder from New Canaan, CT fell headfirst into a tree well in deep snow.

Northstar Ski Patrol responded to a ski incident on advanced terrain, where the guest had been skiing at the resort.” – Marcie Bradley, Senior Communications Manager for Northstar California

It’s being reported that another skier found the deceased man and performed CPR but the victim did not respond.

The 7 day snowfall total yesterday was 94″ of snow.  Snow conditions were soft and deep.

Northstar has seen 562″ of snowfall this season.

This was the 4th tree well death in North America this season.
