The saying goes, all good things must come to an end.  And that time has come at Squaw Valley when we must say farewell to the Mother Ship, our beloved KT-22, which will be closing for the year after this weekend.  The closure is certainly not unjustified though, as there is barely enough snow to get ya back down to the bottom of the mountain!

Don’t know that KT ever got quite this good this year…

There is still some fun skiing to bound found off of KT, from Oly Lady Shoulder to Chute 75 (which has probably been skiing the best).  Who is going to be out there getting those last laps in before she shuts down for the end of the year?

A Look at Snowfall Totals for Squaw:

  • Lower Mountain: 180″
  • Upper Mountain: 320″
  • Did you ski somewhere with better?

  1. I would very disappointed if I came to Squaw on their promoted spring package and see all the snow up high but find Siberia and Headwall closed.

  2. Any word if Squaw will have bike access this summer or ever? Not sure why they can’t do something like N* . Better than a water park.

    1. Asked mr. Wirth personally about the bike park situation the other day and the answer was negative. They are more concerned with developement and lift upgrading. He claims Northstar is a better Mtn for biking, he may have a point. Much of squaw is too steep for bike trails.
He Also said there would be no lift construction this summer…

Got an opinion? Let us know...
