A dry start to the season at Los Puquios, Argentina

Los Puquios Ski Resort, in Argentina, suspended operations last week due to a lack of snow and were hoping that the snow would return soon so they could reopen. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and sadly they announced yesterday that due to lack of snow their winter season 2019 is over.

Los Puquios is less than 18-miles from major resort Portillo just across the border in Chile, who themselves have yet to open to the public, although there is a storm on the horizon, so fingers crossed. The top of Portillo is ~1,000-feet higher than Los Puquios, and they have extensive snow-making equipment to help them through dry spells such as this. Recent temperatures have hovered around freezing, so conditions are prime for snowmaking.

Dear friends, due to the weather conditions, we inform you that from the 21st of July, we end the winter season 2019. We deeply appreciate those who visited our park during this season, as well as the effort and the good Wave of the whole group of people who work in this great family. Thank you also to our suppliers for the trust and support of always. We are waiting for you all next year to continue sharing the fun in family, in the midst of the beauty of our range mountain range.
A hug and see you soon.
