Front Rangers and beyond, the hour is almost upon us when Loveland Ski Area, CO will be open for the 2016 season. Here is Loveland’s own words on the subject:

“We had a strong night of snowmaking last night and the next couple nights are looking promising. Unfortunately we will not be opening this weekend, but are optimistic for an announcement next week! Do your snow dance and stay tuned!”

Loveland Ski Area

Although winter is not yet upon Colorado, and snow pack is well below average, nighttime temperatures will be cold enough to blow snow for at least the next five days. Loveland can really take advantage of their altitude and open up even when their is little to no snowpack.

Loveland opened on Oct. 29th last year, so we’re a little bit behind. But, with some more snowmaking this week, the resort should be able to thrust itself into the realm of open. They sure have been working hard blowing snow!
