Loveland Ski Area, Colorado, will open for the 2025-26 winter season on Saturday, November 8, marking the start of its 88th season of skiing and riding. Crews have been working around the clock to make snow and prepare the mountain, and Loveland is ready to welcome guests back for another season of early turns, big smiles, and cold mountain air at 10,800 feet.
“Opening Day is always one of the most exciting days of the year for our team and our guests,” Rob Goodell said, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at Loveland Ski Area. “Our snowmaking and mountain teams have worked tirelessly to get the mountain ready, and we can’t wait to see our community back on snow.”
On Opening Day, Chet’s Dream will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering top-to-bottom skiing on Catwalk, Mambo, and Home Run—nearly 1,000 vertical feet and 1.5 miles of early-season terrain. A small early-season terrain park will also be open. Music will fill the base area, and guests can grab a limited-edition Toyota Opening Day pin and a freshly baked brownie, available while supplies last.
Opening Day conditions are not recommended for first-timers or beginners. Private lessons will be available for intermediate and advanced skiers at Loveland Basin until beginner terrain opens.
What’s New This Winter: Lift 7 & The Family Zone
In late November, Loveland will debut several upgrades, including the all-new Lift 7—a wider fixed-grip triple chair replacing the former double. The lift enhances comfort and accessibility for beginners and Ski & Ride School guests.
Next to Lift 7, the redesigned Zig-Zag Trail has been transformed into a Beginner Family Zone—a friendly, progressive learning area designed to build confidence for guests of all ages. Loveland Valley and the Ski & Ride School are scheduled to open on November 21, offering a perfect setting for newcomers to experience the new lift and Family Zone early in the season.
