Summer began yesterday, so the days start to get shorter and we can start dreaming of winter. Let the countdown begin!

Loveland Ski Area in Colorado, often one of the first resorts in North America to open, ‘announced’ today that they will begin making snow for the 2022/23 season in 100 days. 14 weeks until September 30th. Winter’s coming, people, it’s happening! 😉

Loveland’s snowmaking team typically starts making snow the last week of September in preparation for a mid-October to early-November opening. Expert local crews and professional snowmakers work around the clock to ensure Loveland is one of the first resorts to open for the season with a full top-to-bottom run covered from tree to tree with an 18″ base.

Thanks to Loveland’s elevation and the expertise of its snowmaking crew, Loveland has a reputation for having the best early season conditions in Colorado. Loveland makes snow on 240 acres of terrain and snowmaking is usually completed in the first week of December.
