Loveland Ski Area To Host Chairlift Speed Dating

LuvByrd, an online dating website for Colorado outdoor enthusiasts, is hosting its first chairlift speed dating extravaganza at Loveland Ski Area on Saturday, February 6th. Tickets for the event are $45 and they include Honey Stinger snacks, free beer from Upslope, lots of raffles, including a Never Summer Swift powder board, a pair of Icelantic Pioneer skis, Spy glasses, Phunkshun face masks, and sweet gear from Candy Grind. There will be music and many likeminded singles all over the slopes. The event is free if you already have a lift ticket or season pass.

LuvByrd will pair every participant with someone else based on age and gender, then you ride the chair up with the option to ski down together. If you hit it off with the person that you were originally paired up with, continue taking runs with them throughout the day. If you’re not feeling it, head to the bottom and they’ll pair you up with someone else. Each time you take the chair up you will receive a raffle ticket for the end of the day drawing.

Mike Keshain, the founder of LuvByrd, launched the site in 2014 when he saw a market for pairing up mountain-minded folk in Colorado. He is a former ski bum that turned his passion into a career. Worst case scenario, you attend the event and enjoy the free beer and a beautiful day on the mountain. At best, you secure yourself a valentines day date and maybe a chairlift partner for life.
