Tahoe athletes continue to deliver in Schoi, as Maddie Bowman took home the gold last night in Women’s Superpipe skiing.  The Sochi Olympics mark the debut of skiers in the Superpipe, and so far US (and more specifically Tahoe) athletes have not disappointed.  David Wise took home the gold the other night, and Maddie Bowman delivered a Gold Medal performance last night.  Podiums in the pipe are not a new thing for Maddie, she brought home Silver in 2012 and Gold last year at X-Games.

Maddie laid down a clean technical run, with back to back switch 9’s and a switch 7 earning her an 89.0 and a gold medal.  This leaves the US in first place for total medals, with 25 total and 8 gold medals.

There’s some speculation that Brita Sigourney was robbed of a medal, if not Gold.  She had the highest amplitude and laid down a clean and styled run, nailing her grabs but running into slight trouble at the bottom with a small hip check.  Both ladies laid it down and put on a spectacular show!

Congratulation Maddie and Brita!
