Major Storm Headed to Colorado This Weekend! | Up to 24″ Snow

Colorado is about to get dumped on.  Cold air will be coming down from Canada and slamming into the Front Range.  Up to 2-feet of new snow if forecast to drop on the Front Range with up to 15″ falling in the Aspen area further west.

It’s gonna be a great storm skiing weekend in Colorado.

...A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY EVENING UNTIL
MONDAY MORNING FOR MOST OF NORTHEAST COLORADO...

.A POTENT WINTER STORM WILL BRING INCREASED MOISTURE...COOLER AIR
AS WELL AS INCREASED UPSLOPE FLOW FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY.
THIS WILL RESULT IN SNOW THROUGH THE WEEKEND THAT WILL BE HEAVY
AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.
TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS STARTING FRIDAY EVENING INTO
SATURDAY AND RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO STAY INFORMED ABOUT THE
STORMS DEVELOPMENT.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN EARLY MORNING FRIDAY IN THE HIGHER
  MOUNTAINS AND BECOME WIDESPREAD BY THE AFTERNOON. SNOW WILL
  INCREASE IN INTENSITY ON SATURDAY WITH WESTERN SLOPES GETTING
  UPSLOPE FLOW INTO SATURDAY BEFORE EASTERLY FLOW MOVES IN
  SATURDAY AFTERNOON. CONDITIONS WILL STEADILY IMPROVE MONDAY
  MORNING INTO MONDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...12 TO 24 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE
  MOST OVER THE MEDICINE AND GORE RANGES.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...WINDS ABOVE TIMBERLINE WILL BE SUSTAINED AT
  10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTING UP TO 35 MPH FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON
  AND EVENING BUT SWITCH MORE EASTERLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON WITH
  GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

* IMPACTS...MOUNTAIN ROADS...ESPECIALLY OVER HIGHER PASSES WILL
  BECOME SNOW PACKED AND ICY BY SATURDAY MORNING. PERSISTENT
  SNOW THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL KEEP TRAVEL HAZARDOUS.
