We rolled into Mammoth, CA late last night under cloudy skies, bitterly cold temperatures, and fresh snow.
This morning, we awoke to 3-4″ of fresh snow and 17ºF on the summit.
On the mountain by 8:30am today in a foggy whiteout that kept the summit closed until the clouds lifted at 9:30.
Right off the top of the mountain was a bit wind scoured, but a few turns down we ran into that famous buttery, smooth, Mammoth wind buff.
From that moment on, we did nothing but top to bottom gondola laps until 2pm.
Everything off the top was good today.
