Mammoth Mountain ski resort in California has been skiing great for the past week and the experience of being in Mammoth in May has been stellar. Mini powder days, ice cream, Latin Market burritos, top to bottom groomers, 8:30am openings, hot springs, and a world class terrain park.
Friday = mini-powder day with great top to bottom skiing
Saturday = Upper mountain closed most the day due to visibility – lower mountain soft and fun
Sunday = my favorite day so far at Mammoth this season – soft everywhere, a bit of new snow, full speed charging on Chair 23
The “Ice Cream Highway” (395 between Highway 50 and Mammoth) was unreal yesterday. Mono Cone, Mono Lake, Five Guys, and Lake Tahoe all showed up big.
Mammoth, CA:
snowfall this season = 361″
snowpack = 48-162″
