Mammoth is opening at 7:30am right now–and the racer kids were loving it this morning. We got on the hill by 8am but a large, lenticular cloud kept the snow hard until the sun finally moved past the cloud around 10am.

After 10am things got soft quick.
The park was unreal. Kids were going nuts. Park laps only take 5 minutes and there are 2 sizable jumps. If you hit both jumps every run, you can hit 24 jumps per hour, which is nice. The park was good from 10am until closing at 2:30. So damn fun.

By 11am the upper mountain had softened up nicely. The spine off Chair 23 was perfect for spread eagle ball grabs and getting weird. Steep, creamy turns were on tap until 2:30.

Skier’s left on Climax was good until closing.

Mammoth was skiing great today and everyone in our 9 person crew was absolutely stoked. With such firm conditions in the morning, the turnaround in mountain conditions after 10am left everyone stoked to get out again tomorrow.
