More than two feet of snow fell on Mammoth Mountain, CA, yesterday as the perfect storm of an atmospheric river and bomb cyclone brought record-breaking precipitation to California.

The storm brings the season snowfall to 41″, the second snowiest October on record, trailing only 2004.

Forecasted cold overnight temperatures will allow early-season snowmaking to continue and expand terrain available on opening day.

Thanks to excellent early season coverage, Mammoth will open this Friday, October 29th, two weeks earlier than anticipated.
