The Second Season is alive and well at Mammoth Mountain, California. The resort announced today, May 14, that spring skiing will continue until at least May 31, with upper mountain coverage holding strong enough to support extended spring operations.

For the period of May 25 through May 31, the resort plans to operate three main lifts: Broadway Express (Chair 1), Face Lift Express (Chair 3), and Chair 23. All lifts are scheduled to run daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., focusing skiing and riding on the upper mountain where snow conditions remain most reliable.

The resort also pointed out that its Main Lodge will remain fully open throughout the extension, providing food and beverage services, equipment rentals, repairs, and ski and snowboard lessons — keeping core guest services running alongside the late-season ski operations.

In addition, visitors to Mammoth are in for a rare treat: the triple season experience. From May 22 onward, the bike park and golf range will open, meaning that guests can ski in the morning, bike in the afternoon, and golf later that same day. While there are only nine days at the moment where the trifecta of mountain sports are possible, there is a chance that winter operations could be extended, should the snowpack prevail.

Spring conditions have become an increasingly important part of Mammoth’s calendar in recent years, with the resort often remaining skiable well into late May or early summer depending on snowpack. The latest extension places it among the longer-operating North American ski areas this season.
