Mammoth Conditions Update:

“Best Conditions of the Season to Date”

In the past week, we have received 2 feet of new snow at Main Lodge and 3+ feet on the Upper Mountain and summit. Sunday (1/7) and Wednesday (1/10) were by far the two best pow days of the season to date. Some high elevation wind and moving clouds, but bluebird and mild for the most part. The snow was some classic packed in Sierra fresh, but sill offered up the wind blown pocket here or there for a good slash and spray into the white room.

A Cycle of storms from Jan 4-10 did wonders on the whole resort, mountain-wide a brand new coat was added. But the top and steeps is what really benefited from this snowfall. The freezing line was high throughout all the storms; the snow that fell at higher elevations was great for covering up any exposed terrain. It made for some of the best turns off the top this season as well as the opportunity to open up runs like Climax and Dave’s Run. Snow continues to ride great heading into this holiday weekend, soft groomers, pow stashes in the trees and packed powder on the steeps. This snow is great for setting us up with a nice solid layer underneath, the future storms to come will surely bring some proper mid-winter pow days. Get here and get ripping.

Keep the snow coming…
