As the spring skiing season continues in the High Sierra, Mammoth Mountain is adjusting its daily footprint. In an operations update shared via social media yesterday, April 26, 2026, the resort announced several key closures and schedule changes as it consolidates terrain for the remainder of the spring.
Beginning Monday, Chair 13, Chair 14, and The Outpost have officially closed for the 2026 season. Additionally, the Roller Coaster Express (4) is taking a scheduled midweek break; the lift is set to reopen this coming Friday, May 1, and will operate on weekends only moving forward, provided conditions allow.
Base Area Consolidation
With the shift in operations, the resort has also finalized closures for its satellite base areas. Both Eagle Lodge and Canyon Lodge are now closed for the remainder of the season, along with the Canyon Express (16).
Mammoth is directing all guests to the Main Lodge and The Mill, which will serve as the primary hubs for parking, lift tickets, equipment rentals, and mountain access.
Spring Riding Outlook
Despite the reduction in lift service, the transition marks the start of the classic spring riding phase that Mammoth is famous for. By moving operations to the higher-elevation Main Lodge area, the resort is focusing on the terrain that typically holds snow deepest into the warmer months.
Skiers and riders are encouraged to check daily lift status reports before heading out, as spring operations remain highly dependent on weather and snow coverage. While no official closing date has been set, the move to a consolidated footprint at the Main Lodge ensures that everyone can continue to enjoy the sun and corn snow well into the final stretch of the season.
