Mammoth Mountain, CA will open for the season on Thursday, November 10th, 2016. The resort has received 11″ of snow this season at the base, but thanks to extensive snowfall at the summit and temperatures that allowed for snowmaking, the resort will be able to open relatively early. There are currently 3 ski resorts open in North America and those include: Killington, Sunshine Village, and Arapahoe Basin, which means Mammoth will be the FIRST ski resort open in California this season.

As you can tell from the picture above, it is DEEP at the Summit currently and cold weather has provided Mammoth with time for extensive snowmaking, which means this year’s opening will be one for the books. Hopefully you can make it out there for opening day and get the first tracks at a California ski resort this season!
